North Beach Cantina: Where Family and Flavor Come Together

Rating: All-Star

We stopped into North Beach Cantina recently, and it quickly became one of those meals you want to tell your friends about.

For the kids, we ordered bean and cheese burritos. Simple, hearty, and just right for hungry little ones. They were gone in no time—but the real excitement came at dessert with the churros. Let’s just say our kids were wide-eyed and all smiles when those came to the table.

My wife ordered the salmon tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. I couldn’t decide between the Baja fish tacos and the salmon tacos, so the staff kindly let me mix it up and try one of each. Both were excellent—crispy and satisfying in their own way.

What impressed us even more than the food was how kid-friendly the service was. Our toddler spilled his water (which the bartender had already made fun with a maraschino cherry in it). When I asked for a refill, they came back with another cup—and this time with two cherries. It was such a thoughtful, generous gesture. Add to that the fact that they serve drinks in plastic cups for kids, and you can see why families feel welcome here.

North Beach Cantina isn’t just a place to grab tacos; it’s a spot that makes families feel cared for, while serving food that leaves you wanting to come back.

If you’re in North Beach and looking for a place that’s as good to kids as it is to grown-ups, this is your spot.
